Helllllloooooooo
In a complete display of faith in God, I decided to reformat my hard drive. See the desktop was acting odd, losing things, wouldn’t let me defrag, locking up when opening certain things, it was time. See, you are supposed to do that once a year, general cleaning, reinstall operating system. I haven’t done it since I got this beast 5 years ago.
Yes it’s old, yes it’s slow, but it does what it is supposed to do, now, so I will keep it around till it doesn’t serve it’s purpose anymore. I do my photography stuff mostly on the laptop anyway. This thing is mostly just for the internet stuff, blogging, email, browsing, blah blah blah.
Anyway, that’s why I haven’t put up a new photo yet. I am still reinstalling things and getting them updated. This thing has 5 years worth of patches and updates to reinstall and it is taking longer than I had anticipated. I have a few more programs to reinstall and hopefully I will be done and back in action!
God bless,
Jeff A
Nothing ventured
Sorry I don’t have a photo to post today. I am getting ready for my annual trek to the Indiana RTAP Roadeo(WARNING if you follow this link be advised that the page is huge. Someone doesn’t know about resizing images so it takes awhile to load!). I will be there all day Saturday photographing the activities and drivers. It really is funner than it sounds. Plus it keeps me busy and gets me familiar with the controls on my camera.
Anyway, I’m outta here for now.
God bless,
Jeff A
Hello all
Still alive and kicken’. I have been doing a bit of research for an upcoming purchase so I haven’t had a lot of time for anything else. I tend to plunge myself into these things so that I get the best bang for my buck. I hate buying something and then a few days later seeing something better that costs the same.
I should be back full force in the next day or so. Unless of course I find another option to research, then it may be a bit longer!
God bless,
Jeff A
Needed: 1 vacation, no responsibilities!
I am wiped, physically and emotionally. I need some time off with no worries. I know, I know, that will never happen, but I can wish can’t I? It is only the middle of the week and I am ready to throw in the towel. I just can’t seem to get a handle on anything. Enough whining now!
I am reading a book called There is a God: How the worlds most notorious atheist changed his mind. It is fascinating, not an easy read in my opinion, but fascinating none the less. He talks a lot of philosophy in the book and I was never really into that so I am having to look things up to understand what he is taking about sometimes. I think he didn’t take into account that there are people like me who need things spelled out for them sometimes.
Well, I had nothing useful and I have wasted enough of your time.
God bless,
Jeff A
Arkansas or bust.
Yeah I still have stuff to talk about on the trip.
I like to kid people sometimes. Not relentlessly or anything like that but mild teasing! My wife has a few things that she does that bring this out in me. One of them is when she says wash, she pronounces it warsh. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of friends from southern states so she isn’t the first one to take the brunt of my attack on this one.
Anyway, we stopped on the upper tip of Arkansas at a restaurant called the Apple Barrel. I figured with a name like that it couldn’t be too bad! I was wrong. Anyway, we get in there and order our drinks and the waitress goes away for awhile. She finally comes back but she is empty handed. She explains to us that it has been busy and all the glasses are dirty, “As soon as we get some warshed, I’ll get your drinks”. I looked at my wife and burst into laughter, I then commented that she was in her element here. She actually laughed too, thank God.
We also stopped at a gas station just before we got into Arkansas that caught my attention. Not so much that it was in the middle of nowhere technically speaking, not even that fact that they didn’t have card readers on the pumps. It was a little mom and pop outfit so I forgave that. What really got my attention was the sign on the door that said, among other things:
If you don’t have shoes
If you don’t have a shirt
If you have to pull up your pants in order to walk
go back to your car and get dressed!
For some reason that made me laugh for quite awhile. Yeah the guy working there was a bit of a redneck, but at least he had his priorities straight.
We also stopped at a convenience store and a man approached us as we were leaving and asked me if I was a Pastor. I said no and what made him think that. He pointed at the cross around my neck. Apparently no one in Arkansas wears a cross? Well except for their pastors.
Alright, thats it for now.
God bless
I’m back!
Of course I never mentioned I was leaving. but thats besides the point. My wife and I left Friday at noon and went to Arkansas. We got back at 4:30 Saturday afternoon! Yes, thats 28 hours on the road. On the road, we saw a lot of this:

It was not a very scenic drive in my opinion. It had it’s moments, but for the most part, bleh. I took lots of notes and a few pictures which I will share over the next few days. Until then, May God bless you richly.
