Please hold still, I hate moving targets!
Well, day two of not smoking went fairly well, at least no one has found the bodies yet!
Want a quick update on the Comcast situation? Yeah, me too. I guess they figured that they had met their obligation by attempting to call me. Maybe they already made their quota of pity calls for the month? I’m sorry but I am really missing the personal service we got from Insight.
No don’t even try it today, I have to go to work early and I won’t be able to answer my phone and if you try it I will tell everyone in internet land about how you purposely wait until I am unable to get to my phone!
It finally stopped raining, thank you very much. I could barely make it down the road today it was flooded on my side and no one wanted to wait for me to go.
K, gotta go to bed now, peace and God bless,
Jeff A
Alright, maybe not too substantial.
I know, I promised something very soon, but you know how I am.
Update to the Comcast situation. As you saw in the comments of previous post about them. It was indeed a member of their team. He called me, while I was sleeping. So I called him back when I woke up (long distance) and got his voice mail. Nothing more was heard, I guess his duties have been fulfilled since he made the attempt to call me. All I really want is the number to my local office, which you can’t seem to find on their site. They are too busy pimping their holy-cow-I’ve-been-on-hold-how-long 800 number. So Mark C. if you read this, just call me with that info and leave it on my voice mail, thank you very much.
In related news, I have noticed a significant slow down on my connection. I hope this is just temporary, although I am afraid it may not be. See insight was giving up 10mbps while Comcast gives you 6mbps. I could usually get around 9mbps when it was insight but ever since the “outage” my best has been about 4.8mbps. Sorry Linda, mbps=megabytes per second or how fast my internet connection is.
I am, at this moment, exploring my options!
I should note that I really don’t want to hate Comcast. I know of plenty of people who do like them and their service is just fine. That is what I want too, I want my service to be just fine, when that happens, I’ll let you know!
Another quick note
An ode to Comcast:
O’ dear Comcast,
Who’s tech support ain’t so fast.
You put me on hold
again and again.
When you will answer,
no one knows when.
I used to get,
my answers fast.
But that is all,
well in the past.
Though I wasn’t given
the chance to fight.
You swooped right in,
and killed Insight!

Yeah, I got put on hold again. I called to find out if I was having an outage in my area or if I had a problem with my modem. Another hour on hold, another 60 minutes gone. Insight had a system where when you called in it would let you know if there was an outage in your area so you didn’t have to sit there and wait for someone to take your call. Even if you did decide to wait, it wasn’t that long!
Dear Comcast, hire some more people to answer the phones or at least give me the number to my local office so I am not losing so much of my life waiting for you. Comcastic? Whatever!
Oh my goodness
That was one hour of my life that I will never get back. I called Comcast today to find out when I would be getting my first bill, I think I should bill them for the time I spent on hold. See my cable company sold out to Comcast and I am already regretting it. When I called my previous provider I got through in about ten minutes, quite a change there.
So when I finally get a human on the line she tells me that I have the wrong department and she is going to transfer me to the right one, “please hold”. No, wait I don’t want to be on hold ever again…
So I finally got through to the right person only to be informed that they haven’t gotten all the billing done yet. I will be receiving a bill in march for two months service. Oh joy, I am so happy I have Comcast, they are Comcastic, and that is not a compliment.
