Time flies when your having fun

Mashed tater

Eight years ago today I was bursting with joy. Eight years ago today you couldn’t have stopped me from smiling. I was holding you in my arms at that hospital and refusing to let you go.

As you grow I see little bits of me in you. You can look at things that make others feel bad, and laugh. You can amuse yourself for hours on end with a notebook and a pen. You and I are together on the fact that there are some things to vile to eat or even try.

When you get hurt I hurt too. When you are sad, I cry too. When you are happy my life seems so much brighter.

Happy Birthday, my little mashed tater.

Sometimes the best presents are given, not received.

We took the girls out Sunday night to see the Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of both worlds show. It’s filmed in Disney digital 3D. It was a lot of fun for the girls and I enjoyed it myself. Of course I am such a music junkie that it was inevitable that I would. The 3D made it more lifelike and the backstage and behind the scenes shots were really cool.

I must say that Miley is really talented and I envy her energy level. She has a promising career ahead of her. I just hope she doesn’t fall into the same trap that a lot of successful musicians fall into. I think Billy Ray will see to that though.

I am soooo tired now. I have had a full day, the longest birthday day for me ever. I am outta here, see ya on the flip!

I love three day weekends

One three day weekend down and one to go. I have taken extra days for both these weekends for fun and education.

The education was a marriage retreat that Becky and I attended on Friday and Saturday. We worked our way through the Five Love Languages video series. It was actually quite a bit of fun. I know a few guys may wonder what kind of fun there could possibly be at a marriage retreat. Well I learned a lot about some of my fellow church members, including some things that I really didn’t want to know. We have blackmail material!

The next weekend is my birthday, well the Friday part of it anyway. Feel free to send cash and expensive gifts my way.

Seriously though, I have always taken my birthday off. I think I do it mostly out of the fear of what I would do to my co-workers if they kept harassing me about it being my birthday. I don’t want to go to prison and have a cell buddy named Bubba.

Could someone call me when January starts? It feels more like late fall than late winter out there!
