Ginormous, it really is!
So anyway, let me tell you more about our trip. I will make this a series of short vignettes, mostly so I can have something to post everyday for awhile!
While driving through Illinois, we came across this:

It is in Effingham Illinois, and it has it’s own website. 198 feet tall and very visible from far away. I remember asking my wife as we were approaching it. What the heck is that? It is either a very odd building, or the biggest cross I have ever seen. All in all, it is very cool and I want one in our state!
Sorry the pic is a bit off, I took it through the tinted window of my wifes car, not really that dark when you see it, unless of course you are looking through a tinted window!
The really cool thing about this cross is that it’s only one of many that some trucker is paying to have built all across the country. Saw the story on an HBO Documentary.
So you just might get one in your state someday soon.
This is awesome for a whole myriad of reasons;
a) the obvious reason
b) it reminded me to visit your photoblog
c) I’m picturing your face as you saw it
and now I have another freaky coincidence that I’ll share with you now. Briefly, if I can.
Last night I was visiting Daily Piglet, catching up. She did a series of 3 posts, chronologizing a recent trip to Savannah, GA.
Go there. I think it is the third post with a link to a news article about The Lights Going Out. This took place in Effingham County, Georgia. Crazy.
