What a bummer!

It looks like I am reviewing my last book for Active Christian Media as they have decided to go to something called iGroops. It looks to be somewhat like Google groups with the added bonus that you have to pay a yearly fee. Unfortunately it is just not in my budget at this time to pay out for this. I am trying to stick to my budget and I didn’t budget for this.

I have really enjoyed my time with ACM, it’s been a lot of fun and I have had the opportunity to read some great Christian authors that I might have never heard about otherwise! I really believe in what Stacy is doing and wish her the best of luck with this venture I will always keep her and the entire group in my prayers as what we were doing isn’t always popular in todays society!

Maybe some where down the road I will be able to rejoin the group but at this time it just isn’t feasible.

  1. Sorry to hear that you must give up something that you enjoyed so much. I’m sure you’ll find something to replace it, you’re a resourceful guy :-)

  2. I think I am going to have a real hard time replacing this though!

  3. Hmmm, did you miss where I said I have free membership up for grabs? And actually I have for ACM reviewers a buy one year and get two, which actually comes to 17.00 for ya.

Also, just so ya know…IGroops is way more than what google is doing. You should sign up for the free trial and check it out.

But here’s the other thing … I paid 99.00 to start the group, then I set my rate of a mere 35.00 for the YEAR…this isn’t monthly. I pay 20 a month for my Cyberears hosting for my podcasting.

And I do not get but half of what you pay me. Then I had to buy prepaid memberships, and so believe it or not, I haven’t made a cent, and actually won’t.

Plus, all of my requirements are out the door for reviewers and yet you still get books, many of them will come from Crossway…

The bottom line is I’m still offering free books for review, but without all the restrictions I had because I’m not being paid by anyone to do them. There are too many people doing this for free and frankly most bloggers eventually deliver mediocre reviews …or none at all.

So I’m building a confidential network of bloggers and media people where you can do video blogging, audio blogging and a lot more…for the very cheap price I’m offering.

What’s a bummer is that after all the hard work I’ve done, for basically no pay and a lot of headaches, many of my reviewer have claimed I’m in this for the money…snotty and a lot of other “nice” Christian things.

Bottom line…I’m done with that and am just passing on what I know. :)

  4. OH…and if you or the others actually took the time to visit and do a trial membership, then you would see how great this is….that I don’t understand. It’s a million times better than these lousy blogspot pages or anything the internet offers for free. Check it out.

  5. Hi Stacy, I feel honored that you dropped by and dismayed that I may have offended you. This post was in no way meant to be a slight on the wonderful work that you do. It is just that I am spread fairly thin now myself and don’t know if I have the time to work with yet another blogging system or the financial resources.

Oh and I didn’t miss the free offer, I sent in my entry.

    God bless
